Our Month in Northern Thailand: the Good Life

Ila and May were two awesome friends we found in Chiang Rai.

Ila and May were two delightful friends we found in Chiang Rai.

Making friends from all over the world has been an elixir for the kids (us, too). Everywhere we stayed, Merle and Mathilda made a new buddy or two, but the real standouts from the last month are Ila and May from Australia. Our time together with these girls and their parents, Niko and Jane, was short but definitely sweet.

Besides making friends, we also spent a solid amount of time swimming in the various pools of our guesthouses. The kids swim like fish these days and can tolerate really cold water, since a heated pool in these parts is unheard of.

I close the month with a few more random snapshots of our time up north. Our hearts are still warm with the connections we made up there. The fun continues down south, mostly in Krabi Province, where my reportage will soon continue. Expect a lot of pictures of water and sand.

  1. Hi Lyndel,
So nice to see the pics of the kids playing, that was a great time for us too and the girls still talk about Matilda and Merle. So great to make friends from other parts of the world! Hope you are having a great time in Southern Thailand remember you can always pop over to Oz from Bali if you fancy🙂
